Pharmaceutical Chemistry
Pharmaceutical chemistry is a discipline at the intersection of chemistry and pharmacology involved with designing, synthesizing and developing pharmaceutical drugs. Pharmaceutical chemistry involves the identification, synthesis and development of new chemical entities suitable for therapeutic use. It also includes the study of existing drugs, their biological properties, and their quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR).

Labs facilities
The department has well-furnished labs which include Pharmaceutical Chemistry-I, Pharmaceutical Chemistry – II and Pharmaceutical Analysis. Labs have facilities for synthesis and analysis of drug molecules as per Pharmacopoeial standards, having HPLC, UV/visible Spectrophotometer, Fluorimeter, Flame Photometer, Polarimeter, etc.
